‘The system just doesn’t work’: More children than ever are not in school, report finds, with more than 11 million lost days
A report by the Institute for Public Policy Research and education charity The Difference found children lost 11.5 million days of learning in the autumn term due to suspensions and absences in 2023/24 – up nearly 70% in five years.
