Friday night was one to remember for Jasson Dominguez.
Once dubbed the New York Yankees’ top prospect, this is Dominguez’s first full season, and we are now seeing why the Yankees have touted him so highly ever since he was 16 years old.
At age 22, Dominguez made history as the youngest Yankee to ever hit three home runs in a game, doing so against the Athletics in Sacramento.

However, there's quite a twist to this historic achievement: The switch-hitter actually hit home runs from both sides of the plate.
Dominguez belted his first blast of the night from the left side in the third inning, going back-to-back with Paul Goldschmidt. In the seventh, this time from the right side, he went deep for a solo shot. But to cap it all off, he hit a grand slam in the eighth, back to the left side of the box.

Pope Leo XIV’s sports fandom coming to light with White Sox World Series appearance, Villanova-Knicks ties
As the first -ever Pope to hail from the U.S., Robert Prevost's American sports ties quickly became a point of global conversation after he was appointed Pope Leo XIV.
As a Chicago native, Prevost's White Sox fandom came to light this week, and it turns out he’s not just a casual fan either. Footage of Prevost attending Game 1 of the 2005 World Series surfaced on social media Friday.
By pure chance, Prevost was shown on the MLB on FOX broadcast for that game at U.S. Cellular Field on Oct. 22, 2005, and the cameras caught him during the top of the ninth inning as the White Sox were clinching a 5-3 win over the Houston Astros.

The White Sox went on to win the series in a four-game sweep, for their only championship since 1917.
Prevost was first revealed as a White Sox fan when his brother, John Prevost, mentioned it in an interview with WGN-TV.
“He was always a Sox fan,” John said.

There was a scary moment in a National Women’s Soccer League game on Friday night after a player was hospitalized after an on-field incident.
Angel City defender Savy King suffered a “medical event” during the team’s game against the Utah Royals.
King went down in the 74th minute and was attended to for some 10 minutes before she was taken from the field on a cart, leaving other players visibly shaken.

Reports say it appeared that CPR was administered, and an AED was used. The game was stopped for several minutes to treat King.
Eventually, she was stretchered off the field, and after the game, both teams and their staff joined together in prayer.
The club gave good news after the game.
